An Orkney Murder

An Orkney Murder (2003) by Alanna Knight – Sold by Crappy Old Books

Welcome to the windswept mystery of the Orkney Islands, where secrets linger like mist over ancient stones. In An Orkney Murder, Alanna Knight—master of historical crime—delivers a brooding, atmospheric tale featuring her stalwart Victorian sleuth, Inspector Jeremy Faro.

Summoned north to the remote Orkneys for what should be a peaceful family visit, Faro is quickly swept into something far less restful: a mysterious death, whispers of Viking curses, and a tight-lipped island community that doesn’t take kindly to outsiders asking questions. As Faro digs deeper, long-buried truths begin to surface—along with more bodies.

Moody, methodical, and full of Scottish charm, this 2003 instalment in Knight’s beloved series offers fog, folklore, and foul play in equal measure.

Condition: Slight lean, mild page tanning, and a suspiciously coffee-stained corner that may or may not be evidence. Still perfectly readable, unlike some of the locals.
